Positioning youth-led initiatives for Sustainability

Youth for Innovation Trust (YIT) has announced the resumption of its Start it and Sustain it Training in October 2023. The training is ideal for early career professionals who are working within civil society organizations and other social enterprises. Young people and women get to develop the necessary skills that are needed to build professionalism, attract funding and have an impact in their communities. This is a 3day long training where they get to learn, network and share opportunities as well as meet industry professionals for a pep talk.

This training comes at a time where a number of youth organizations have shut down because of economic difficulties and leadership crises among other challenges. Realizing that these organizations are important stakeholders in nation building, YIT has taken the task of sharing with them the necessary skills required for sustainability. Several youth led and youth serving organizations have benefited from this initiative and these include; Green Hut Initiative, Eddien Sports Trust, TREAT, and Intengwe among many others. The organizations left the training with strong policies, working strategies, websites and social media accounts.

This quarter’s training has been slated for the 24th of October 2023 at the YIT offices, starting at 9am sharp. It attracts an investment fee of only $20 per individual to carter for the training equipment and meals. The modules that are going to be taught include the following: Leadership for Sustainability & Basic NGO management, Developing organizational policies and procedures, Fundraising and Financial Management, Basic Digital Skills and Social Media Management. More information can be found on YIT Social Media Pages or through contacting the YIT administration on 0782838682 on whatsapp. The registration form is attached below.
