Call for Artists: Zambezi Meetup Residency

Are you a young woman artist passionate about poetry, storytelling, cultural exchange, and bold new creative expression?

The Loziba Movement (Bulawayo) is inviting applications for the Zambezi Meetup, a cross-border artistic residency called the Zambezi Meetup that will bring together young women poets and storytellers for a three-day residency along the Zambezi River.

Participants will:

  • Learn from Tonga and Nambya cultures.
  • Co-create daring spoken-word, and literature pieces in diverse and indigenous languages.
  • Record and perform their work for both digital and community audiences.
  • Be part of an anthology and audio-visual project that will be shared across Zimbabwe, Zambia, and beyond.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Young women aged 18–35 and are part of the Loziba Movement or the WordSmash Poetry (applications will also be open to young women who have previously volunteered for or have been affiliated to both movements)
  • Passionate about poetry, storytelling, or creative writing.
  • Willing to learn from other cultures and collaborate across borders.
  • Open to creating work in indigenous languages or blending them with other languages.
  • Committed to feminist values, inclusion, and daring creativity.

Youth for Innovation Trust (YIT) is a youth-driven organization working to advance inclusive growth, digital empowerment, gender equality, and innovation for sustainable development. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our team and strengthen our institutional growth, partnerships, and resource mobilization efforts.


Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing YIT’s business development and resource mobilization strategy.
• Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and collaborations.
• Supporting proposal development, reporting, and contract management.
• Conducting sustainability initiatives, including social enterprise and income-generating projects.


Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in business development, fundraising, or partnership management within NGOs, social enterprises, or development institutions.
• Strong understanding of youth, gender, innovation, and development issues in Zimbabwe and the region.
• Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
